Graupner, Systems Catamaran Boat (Nitro version)
Inboard .15 O.S. Max Engine, flex cable drive, scratch build out drive, 2-1/2lbs.

Just like building the Electric version, layout the plans and build the boat in a good area. There are 3 sheets of instructions with this kit. The pictures on the plans are very good. However, the plans show an old driveline no longer sold. So you will have to make your own motor mount from the extra pieces of wood included in this kit.

Snap out all the die cut wood pieces and open the glue and other supplies provided with the kit. Make sure you have everything you will need before starting the build.

Trim the ABS hull with a sharp knife by scoring the plastic on the preformed trim line. Double check to make sure you are trimming in the proper place!

Once it is all scored, simple fold the edge back and forth a few times and peel off the extra plastic

Layout and test fit the different pieces BEFORE gluing. Check the flywheel clearance with the hull for the starting belt. Also install steel threaded inserts in the wood motor mount or install an aluminum motor mount.

Glue in the support structure, prime and paint. Carefully mask the edge of the transom & deck to be glued. Sealing the hull and wood stiffeners is VERY important to making a Nitro boat last. Otherwise the Nitro fuel will slowly eat all the pieces of the boat. Do a good job!

Test fit the Octura .130 flex drive and custom steering strut then glue the tube through the transom

Fill the front compartment with expanding or cut some styro foam to prevent the boat from sinking. Then attach the deck, prime and paint the interior that was masked and the entire exterior.  Then install the engine and connect the flex drive to the coupler (don't forget to slip in the starter belt before tightening the coupler) and plumb all the water cooling lines. Next install the radio gear and connect the steering servo to the rudder. Lastly install the exhaust pipe.

Finish installing the flex driveline by connecting the prop to (in this case a custom built) steering strut and finish plumbing the water cooling to the pick up.

Add the final details and decide on exterior graphics.

Apply your own graphics for a unique look and get it in the water!

Build a stand with PVC pipe, will not rust and is very durable. Note: clear prop guard,  battery, radio & starter stored in bottom area.

Price as build (Assembled and ready to run) $
