Here is Ian Howe's boat. He is a member of the
Islwyn Scenic Drifters in South Wales UK. The boat is a Miami 55 acquired
from Prestwich models UK, that specialize in model race boats etc. All parts
required to build the boat were included in the Miami 55 kit.
The Boat is 54 inches in length and is powered by a Zenoah 260 PUM 25.4cc
pull start engine. The bronze racing propeller balanced and sharpened is
driven by flexi-shaft not shown in pictures.
The graphics I custom made myself using transparent sticker paper (available
from HOBBYCRAFT) and after searching the internet for decals etc, printed
them out onto the paper, trimmed and applied then sealed over with Simonez
lacquer. The purple deck surface glitter effect was applied using Tetrosyl
Special effects paint.
The Boat is controlled by a Futaba 6 channel Skysport and the rudder is
driven by a heavy duty servo. In all the boat took just over 2 months to
finish. |
