We feel the Auto Bailer is a must for any R/C model boat. This page shows the step by step details of installing the Auto Bailer in a Traxxas Villain Deep Vee, Miss Bud Hydro and Catamaran. Total install time is 15 minutes and requires the following tools:

• 3/8" drill bit (a smaller 1/4" bit should be used but the hole must be further opened with a file, Dremel or Exacto to snugly fit the Auto Bailer)
• Drill motor
• CA (super) glue or 5 minute epoxy or 100% silicone.

Step 1: Drill the hole at the lowest point in the boats hull. NOTE: If you have a Villain EX do not remove both screws (at the same time) that hold on the water pick up. There is a backing plate that the screws thread into and it will fall off inside the hull!

Now CAREFULLY drill the hole under the water pickup. All the rest of the step are the same for the EX or the VI.

Step 2: Remove loose shavings after hole is proper size. Note: you can see the inner liner through the hole.

Step 3: Place a small amount of epoxy (CA Glue or Silicone sealant can also be used) inside the hole and on the outside of the Auto Bailer. then slip the Auto Bailer in the hole (screen end on the inside) about half way and let the glue dry.

That is it! Now go have fun with your boat and not worry about water getting in or out of the hull.

Position of the Auto Bailer in a Miss Bud Hydro (left sponson). The fiberglass is thin in this area, we recommend you drill a 1/4" diameter hole and dremel the hole to the proper size. This will prevent the drill from grabbing and chipping the boats red gel coat.
