This page covers the details of installing the Metal Prop kit we sell for the Traxxas Villain Deep Vee.

The picture below shows a fully upgraded Villain with metal prop kit, Auto bailer and water cooling installed.

The metal props provided in this kit are stiffer under high RPM and provides the boat more crisp & consistent operation. Additional props may be purchased individually in different pitches to further fine tune your model boat based on the batteries & motors you are using. Total install time is 10 - 20 minutes and requires the following tools:

Note: Metal props require some finish work as they are shipped from the factory in rough cast form.

Step 1: Check to make sure you have all the parts you need for the installation. At the top is the stock props and shafts. At the bottom is all the parts you will need to properly install the conversion. Note: the 4 small washers were on the stock shafts and are reused in the conversion.

 

Traxxas Villain IV Deep Vee Prop Kit:

(2) Conversion shaft (4mm to 3/16" Stainless Steel)
(2) Drive Dog (set screw type)
(2) Thrust washer
(2) 10-32 Nut (to hold prop on shaft)
(1) X447-LEFT Beryllium Copper METAL Prop (requires hand finishing before use)
(1) X447-RIGHT Beryllium Copper METAL Prop (requires hand finishing before use)
