SUMMARY REVIEW

LOOKS: Good, our staff could hardly wait to get their hands on it.
QUALITY: Everything seemed like good quality for the money and we mean everything: stickers, hull & electronics.
PERFORMANCE: We were impressed with this models out of the hole to plane speed. It can also turn very sharp. Top speed was between 18 and 20MPH (24mph with a metal prop). We got 10 minute run times on a 6 cell 2400mAh battery pack.

UPGRADEABLE: Yes, motor (19 turn max), radio gear, speed control, metal prop, cooling, autobailer, etc.
SPARE PARTS: Yes, available.
LIKES: Fast and easy to operate out of the box. Electronic Speed Control with BEC is included (but no reverse). That it came with a boat stand. Oiling holes in driveline. Steering style strut. Long run times with stock motor and a 6 cell battery.
DISLIKES: Radio gear was not waterproof enough out of the box. But that is easy to fix with some silicone sealant. 6 cells max with stock motor. Rubber band hatch cover (tighten it up and make a silicone seal for the hatch). Stick style radio (we prefer the pistol grip style radios).
REQUIRES: Eight AA batteries, 6 cell battery pack and charger.
INCLUDED: Fully assembled Boat, Radio, single sheet stickers and boat stand.
VALUE: Excellent!

DETAILED REVIEW:
First off this is a RTR (ready-to-run) kit. Yes, we just put on the stickers, pop in antenna tube and added charged batteries to the radio and boat. We get to drive and review a lot of boats here at FunRCBoats, and we had fun with this boat! We had 5 different drivers ranging from age 6 to 39. We ran 10 battery packs through this model boat were we jumped waves, retrieved other stalled boats and did a bunch of 360's. We found the boat easy to operate and drive with good run times of about 10 minutes. The Blast sat well in the water and was stable in rough water. We did find the radio gear was not waterproof enough, right out of the box. But that is easily fixed with some silicone sealant on the receiver, servo, switch & speed control and it was never a problem again. We were impressed that the kit included an Electronic Speed Control with BEC for this low price and it worked really good. However, this model does not have reverse. The drive is also easy to trim as it is a "steering strut" style (as seen in the picture above) and we were impressed with the boats roost. I prefer a pistol "style" radio but the kit comes with a stick "style" radio. However, the kids and other adults all found the radio provided with the kit to work fine.

NOTE: Although this boat seems fairly small at 24" long it is to fast for a swimming pool. 6 cells are the max with the stock motor and speed control. Good Upgrades for this model would be an Autobailer and a Cooling coil kit to add life and reliability to this model boat. We recommend 2400mAh, 6 cell battery packs for this model boat.
