This
review is on Octura Beryllium Copper (metal) props. Octura has long set the
standard
with R/C model boat racers. They offer a wide range of sizes and shapes
(see prop chart) to allow the most demanding
modeler to dial in their boat. The FunRCBoats staff uses this product on every
one of our boats and can only highly recommend you install one on your R/C model
boat.
What you can expect: The props are semi-rough cast and require finishing. Finishing is defined as: sharpening the edges, wet sanding the blades to a smooth or polished finish and balancing for smooth high RPM running.
The properties of these high quality racing props are stiffness and that they will not rust. Most importantly, you can expect good strong performance that is very consistent (compared to a plastic prop) as you make various adjustments to your boat to improve performance and speed. Because of the metal prop's weight, you will want to balance your prop so it spins smoothly at high RPM.
Traxxas Nitro Vee boat owners try the X440 and Villain owners try the X447 left and right. It will require a simple the shaft conversion kit that is very easy to install.
Props
are available with .125" (1/8"), .187" (3/16") and .250" (1/4") bores (shaft
holes). Sorry no metric sizes. However, they offer
kits to convert most popular R/C model boats. Please contact us if you are
not sure what size or pitch to order or use the prop
chart as a guide.
Don't forget the tapered prop nut, it is a nice way to finish off any model boats drive.
Do you and your boat a favor and order one today!
