Chargers are an important part of any modelers equipment. Weather it is a quick peak detect charger or an overnight wall plug power pack type charger, know your options and the different equipment available. The chargers below are "top-of-the-line" from MRC and Novak. These chargers offer the latest circuitry with more sensitivity to properly charge high tech batteries like the newer NiMh batteries. A good charger can quickly charge up to 8 cell battery packs at 4.5 amps from 120V (AC) or 12V (DC) current. They also do a great job charging radio and receiver battery packs too, at about 1 amp. Basic peak chargers like the MRC 819 offer the peak detect feature starting at about $30 where the MRC 959 is about $60.
