Glow plugs look a lot like a spark plug but operate differently. A glow starter is used to get the tiny coil inside the plug to "glow" once the engine is running the glow is maintained from the ignition of the fuel.

All Nitro fuels use glow plugs. Glow plugs are available in Short, Long, Hot, Normal and with an Idler bar. Remember to keep a 5/16" or 8mm socket handy to install and remove your plug. See list below for reference of the different uses (this is not everything):

Short: This is more common in larger motors (same as O.S. A3) plug.
Long:
This is a common size (same as a O.S. #8) plug.
Hot:
Only for problem engines loosing compression.
With Idler Bar:
Only for problem motors.

Starting can be done by following steps:

       
STEP 1: Attach Glow Starter to engine           STEP 2: Locate Starter Belt                    STEP 3: Attach one side of the
                                                                                                                                                     belt to the flywheel.

STEP 4: Attach the other side to the electric
             Starter and  turn over the engine.
